Are you beginning to experience the after holiday
blues? The tree has been taken down and all the tinsel neatly stored. Your
dreams of sugar plums and the perfect gift seem miles away.
It is a time of transition. A new year lies ahead with promise of great
change. You have committed to your New Year’s Resolutions or you may have
committed to not having any this year.
After all they seem to disappear so quickly. Either way is perfect but
there is one thing I hear time and again and that is. “This year I am going to
have more fun.” It is somehow more than a resolution. It’s more like a true
declaration of fact! “I am going to find time this year for me.”
If this sounds like you, then I would like to
offer you a few tips on how to manifest more fun. As a coach I often work with
people who are very busy burning the candle at both ends. They cannot imagine
how to find the time for the fun they are seeking. In reality it’s often not
about the time but more about the commitment. If you are ready to make 2009 a
year of more fun, then try on some of the ideas below and expect it to happen.
·
Set
an intention to make fun a priority. You do not need to
know how it will happen. You only need to decide this is truly what you want.
There is great power in setting an intention.
·
Lighten
up!
Be open to letting fun show up in your life. Have you ever noticed that the people
who seem engaged and happy in life attract more happiness? Think of things that
make you smile and commit to doing them.
·
Become
a YES. Say yes to all invitations that show up for 30
days. Really commit to this. Don’t let your ability (or perceived ability) to
do something stop you. Be fearless just for 30days and say, “YES.”
·
Be
proactive. If you want to try something new such as bowling
or snowboarding ask a friend to join you. Tell them about your intention to
have more fun. You might be surprised how much they have wanted more fun in
their life also.
·
Let
the universe know your desires. I learned a great
deal about manifesting from Rich German who taught me about the 10-10. It is a
very simple concept of listing 10 things you are grateful for each day and 10
things you are manifesting. It really does work. I use it every day and could
tell you many stories but most recently I have been adding FUN to my
manifesting list and it has been showing up.
My wish for all of
you is to make 2009 your best year yet!
